Native Plants & Trees
Encouraging the growth and re-establishment of native plant and tree species to our area has been a central focus of our conservation effort.
The term 'native' refers to plant and tree species that evolved in a certain ecological zone before the introduction of the many European species that grow today. Hawthorn Valley Farm resides in Ontario's Carolinian region, which extends through the southern part of the province and down into the United States.
